Clinton Route 66 Festival -- Downtown & McLain Rogers Park

The Clinton Route 66 Festival is a local favorite, as it's predecessor the Clinton Hot Dog Daze dates back over three decades. In 2007 Clinton was the host of the National Route 66 Festival and at that time combined the famous Hot Dog Daze and the local car show to boast an even bigger event as the national Route 66 Festival came through town. Add in a poker run and a wiener dog race and there you have a fun filled weekend.

The two-day Festival will begin downtown on Friday, May 24th a local favorite the Burn Out Zone, a Stereo Sound Off Competetion , and the third annual "Route 66 Battle of the Bands" hosted by Wright Wradio.

Saturday’s activities will take place in in the downtown area on Frisco between 4th and 10th Streets. Activities will include a Car, Truck and Bike Show, Weiner Nationals Dog Races, lots of great food, a variety of vendors, and a Poker Run along Route 66. Over $5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded for the Car and Bike Show, and the Poker Run. The three fastest dogs in the Weiner Nationals will also receive cash prizes. Registration for the Car Show and the Poker Run begins at 8:00 a.m. at the corner of 10th and Frisco. At 10am the car show officially kicks off and registration for the Weiner Nationals begin just next to the yellow track which will be at 5th and Frisco, just prior to the 11:00 a.m. races. Anyone wanting to impress your friends can enter the hot dog eating contest hosted by Grace Living Center at noon. The Car Show wraps up at 4pm with recognition and cash prizes. The Poker Run starts at 4:30pm, participants have until 7:30 to take advantage of the poker run specials at each of the five stops. Poker Run prizes will be awarded on the main stage with the Car Show grand champion at 8pm, and The Temptations take stage for a free concert, brought to you by the Clinton High School All School Reunion and the Lucky Star Casino.
